Child Support if child does not graduate from H.S.
I live in San Diego, CA and have a child who will be 18 in July and might not graduate from high school this year. Will the court continue to have me pay my child support payments? If so, if my child never does graduate from high school (i.e. get a GED) then how long must I pay the support?

The rules in most cases state that you pay until 18 AND graduated High School or until 19 if they are still attending High School or equivalent.

So if he is 18 now and graduates in June then child support can end. If he still has to go back or seeks education along the lines of a GED course then you can end it at 19 regardless if they finish school or not.

The only deal breaker is if the child support order is out of another state then California like New York ( 21 ) or Inidana ( 21 ).

I have a 3 year old child out of wedlock and I broke up with his father since September 2008. He was abusive and I had him arrested. After he got out of jail, I allowed him to still see our child. We agreed that he would pay the child support without the courts being involved. Well of course that...
