    The basics of journalizing are an entire chapter, and a topic that never ends as you learn more and more. No one can answer this in any simple manner on a forum like this, because it's a huge subject and we couldn't know what you maybe do already understand, where you're stuck, what you're confusing (which is probable), and what you need explained.

    Here's a site that goes over the basics, but I don't know if it will help you any more than your textbook. If there's something specific you don't understand, you're going to have to ask a specific question.
