    Jelious Dachshund won't stop peeing
    Hi
I have a 6 year old male Dachshund who is fixed and he is very jealous of my 3 year old son. I have to keep them separated because if I don’t Buster will eat my sons toys, but by keeping him out he pees and poops all over the house and after my son goes to bed and buster is allowed in the living room the first thing he does is pees in it. As I said if I let him in prior to this he eats the plastic toys which are not good for him. I have to keep all other room doors shut as well because he will pee in our bedroom so the same thing when I open my door he runs in there and pees. Then he just stands in the kitchen and stares at us and whines. It breaks my heart but I do not know what to do. Should I get rid of him to someone that can give him more attention? I just don’t know how to stop it. He is a very caring and loving dog very loyal but if he can not be right next to me AT ALL TIMES he gets very vindictive. I am really at a loss.

You're right, it sounds like typical jealousy issues.

Unfortunately I don't have any kids myself so it's hard to understand kids at different ages so bare with me :D

Perhaps you could get your son involved in training your Doxie, get him to help you teach him things like sit, stay, drop etc.
It will help show your dog that your son is not just someone to be jealous of, he is his master just like you are.
