    I am trying to get over my boyfriend
    Hello everyone I was dating this guy for akmost 2 years and he told me he was going to marry me and I thought that I was going to have his child and then I got seprated from him in December 2008 and he has already moved on so why can't I please help me figure this out I would really apperciate it very much

    Break ups got to suck, especially when it comes to long-term relationships that you were very committed to. I'm curious as to why you guys separated. Do you think there is any hope of a reunion? If you're having problems moving on you can always try counseling. If you're uncomfortable going to a professional counseler, find an older woman with wise advice who wouldn't mind taking the time to hear you out a once a week or every-so-often. It could bring you a lot of relief to just vent your feelings to someone you know.

    Some people take longer to recover from a break up than others. For example, in your case, your ex moved on with his life a little quicker than yourself. Hopefully you haven't been in contact with him much during the past few months.

    Talking to him, before you are over the break up and while he's already moved on, can really add to the confusion and give you false hope, which would prolong the recovery process.

    Focus on yourself. Don't contact him until you've completely recovered. Stay busy, hang out with friends meet new people, hobbies, etc. But the key ingredient is "patience". There's no magic potion to get over something.

    Everyone is so different in these things, and you can't compare yourself to others.

    The death of a relationship is often like a physical death. It's the end of your hopes and dreams and of the life that you had mapped out with each other.

    Treat it like a physical death. Allow yourself to mourn and feel sad. Allow yourself to watch sad movies and weep your heart out. Buy a dozen boxes of tissues and go for it.

    It's said all the time but it's so true. Time is the greatest healer. Learn what you can about yourself from the breakup and try to see it as an experience that will take you on to bigger and better things.

    Remember that endings always pave the way for new beginnings.

    Keep yourself surrounded by positive people that want to see you happy... like family and friends for example
