    Probation violation
My husband went to jail yesterday for probation violation. He didn't go and see her. He hasn't been in anymore trouble. What is the worst that could happen when he goes to court? Is it possible that they will put him back on probation-it has been almost over a year since he has had this warrant.

So he was arrested on a warrant that's almost a year old? He must of violated his probation somehow for the warrant to have been issued. If he failed to report to his probation officer as ordered that would constitute a violation. In all likelihood he'll either have his probation extended or have to serve time in jail.

If I understand it right, he just never reported, and never reported for over a year. So the court will feel he did not want and may not report in the future,

There is a good chance they will just send him to jail, he had better act in court so sorry and admit he was a fool. IF he gets another probatoin chance, if he misses again, expect him to be long time gone

    Hello nurse:

You got good answers... But, I have a question for you...

You KNEW he was a wanted man. You KNOW the cops could break into your house with GUNS in the middle of the night terrorizing you and your children - imprinting the image on their little brains of their father being perp walked out of the house in handcuffs...

Knowing all that, why didn't YOU require that he act responsible??

I can't imagine a court not sending your husband to serve out his sentence. Absconding is normally viewed as a slap in the face to the court. If you report, even dirty, you have a chance to remain on probation. Not reporting is one of the most serious violations.
