    Death

    My wife died 8/8/04 at age 51. Am I entitled to any widower benefits when I retire myself.
    IE widower's pension

    If your wife had a work history and hence SS credits built up, I believe that you can indeed receive benefits once you reach retirement age. Here's a link that may help explain it:

    Usually it's the SS of the larger of the two.

    Pensions depend on the plan. Some have survivors benefits, other plans do not.

    Also you have to meet the SS's requirement of just how many years you were married. That has a LOT to do with if you can collect the larger of the two retirement benefits.
