    components of vectors?
    Let A = (4.6 , 20 south of east), B= (2.1 , north), and C= (5.1 , 70 south of west).
    Write A in component form.i.e, Ax,Ay
    Write B in component form.i.e, Bx,By
    Write C in component form. i.e, Cx,Cy

Find the magnitude of D=A+B+C (VECTORS)
Find the DIRECTION of D=A+B+C (VECTORS)

some tell me hw to solve this.

What can help you best here is a sketch.

Have a centre, say O. Have a line towards the right (for the east direction) and measure (or estimate) 20 degrees to the south. Draw a line of 4.6, with that angle.

Now, use your trigonometry to find the components of the vector. If you draw a vertical line from the right directional line (east) to the tip of your vector, you have your vertical vector component (Ay).

    This is given by:

    sin 20 = 4.6/y

Where y is your required component. Solve for y, and you have your vertical component. To find the horizontal component, draw a horizontal line, from a line with a southern direction passing through your centre O to the tip of your vector. Use trigonometry again to find the component.
