17 weeks how do I tell my new boss.
I am 17 weeks and will be 18 weeks on Monday, I literally JUST started the job. I sell air purifiers "Rainbows" I think I can use the pregnancy towards my advantage too! But how do I tell the boss that I am pregnant not due till the end of March so I have plenty of time to work and would be back in 6 weeks. Please help, I know they can't fire me but I figured since I am new they could say that I am not working to their standards or something. IDK but please help! I really appreciate ANY info asap..
Thanks
L

They're not going to fire you if you're doing your job really well while you still can work. Just show that you're efficient and are willing to work, they'll understand. Babies are more important than sales, and they have other employees to cover for you in your absence. No worries. :)

I think that you should tell your employer that you are pregnant. If you aren't already showing you will be very shortly.
If they are at least told what's going on with you now, and that you plan to return after the baby is born, they would know where they stand, and be ready with someone to take your place during your absence.

Yes I have a dr appointment on Wednesday to find out if it is a boy or a girl.. but what I can do is tell them after the dr appointment is that I found out I was pregnant and can keep going and also that I want to return to work after the baby is born. I know that they can't techinically fire me for that but they could come up with an excuse. I think also if I explain how "we" could use this to our advantage too. I sell air purification systems and I could say everyone wants best for their family that is why I personally use them especially with a newborn on the way! What do you think?

I personally don't think that lying to them is the answer. It isn't something I would do.
But, if you're comfortable lying about 'just finding out' that you got pregnant, realizing that your thinking assures you a job when your matternity leave is up, go right ahead. But, I should think that when they realize how far along you are, they would know you deceived them. That could have repercussions when you return.
They may surprise you. If they like your work, they may be happy for you, and cooperate in having you back after the baby is born. I know I would prefer honesty if I were them.
But, to start with deception, isn't likely to build a good trusting relationship down the road.
Good luck however you decide to play this one out.

I'm just wondering if they won't think that they have been hoodwinked,so to speak.
During the interview process was the time to declear your pregnancy, if they had known at that stage would you still have gotten the job?
Its hard to say.
Depending on the type of work you were employed to do, it may now be inconvient to fill your position.
I would check out your legal standing before saying anything.

Create a plan before you approach your boss so you look prepared and dedicated to your job.
Think about your goals and restrictions for work while pregnant, how you plan to work around the pregnancy, and when you plan to return. In my position, I have to decide who can cover which of my duties, so if that pertains to you too, you might want to think about that.
Once you've thought this through, ask for a private meeting and there you go! Any boss would appreciate an employee who seems proactive and dedicated to their job. Many worry that a pregnant woman won't return once the baby comes.

Boss firing employees after boss resigns

Is it legal in California for a CEO to fire employees AFTER the CEO has resigned? My understanding is that the CEO can no longer hire, fire or negotiate contracts after they have tendered their resignation.
