    Theft 500 23yo Dallas TX
I'm a 23 year old male, from dallas Texas. I have a warrant for theft 500, from 2 years ago. I've never been arrested for it and I'm trying to find out what's the worst case scenario if I turn myself in.

Here's what happened, a couple of years back I got into a huge fight with a close friend, over rent. And I ended up taking his labtop and pawning it. A year later, I go to apply for a job, and they tell me that I have theft 500 charge. And another year has passed since then, and I don't really know what I should do. Recently my wallet was stolen, so I need to replace my drivers licence, and I don't even know if I can.

The circumstances don't matter at this point. If there is an open warrant you are on the State's computers (info shared with other States). When you attempt to renew your driver's license you will undoubtedly be denied and the info turned over to the Police - very possibly you could be held until the Police get there.

If you turn yourself in you will probably be held until you can appear before a Judge. You already skipped Court at least once so you could be held until trial - although you could also be allowed out on bail/bond, depending on the charge.

If the Police don't get you today, they'll get you tomorrow - a simply traffic stop, something along those lines.

Warrants never die, by the way.
