    Install a 110V AC unit in a country with 220V
    Planning on sending a 110V A/C unithere in the US) over to my home country which uses 220V. Can this be done?
    WIll there be an issue of the 50 or 60 hertz?
    Can I just purhcase a voltage transformer and that will do the job?

    It is always best to match a unit to the system frequency, esp. if the unit is not labeled both 50/60 Hz.

    220 Volts can be converted using a transformer, (not change the cycles), but there are losses also involved.

    Quite frankly, I would think it best on several points to buy a unit in that country that would match the local electrical syste, considiering freight costs, customs, transfomer and installation, changing cord ends, and then the 60 Hz unit may not work safely on 50 Hz.

    50 Hz stuff will usually work on 60 Hz, but not the other way around. Transformers run hot.

    You need to make a list of the items and include:

    voltage range, fixed/variable/selectable/ watts or horse power
