About numbness on leg - urgent
Hi, I recently have seen a doctor about a pain in my anus, which he diagnosed as being anal fissure. He gave me 2 ointments ; 1 whşch contains Tribenosid + Lidocaine HCl and one which Lidokain HCl . I have used it for about 1,5 weeks, and stopped using it for the following week. When that week had ended, Istarted feeling numbness in my anus which led to numbness in my right thigh then my lower leg and finally my foot. I'd like to know the reason why this numbness is travelling through my body and if there's anything for me to do to prevent this from happening. Thanks.

Numness is caused by something resting on a nerve. There are a lot of nerves in that particular area of your body. I don't have a clue why using an ointment would cause this kind of side effect a week later.

Did you somehow injure yourself on your lower back?

Lidocaine is a numbing agent. It's part of the novicaine family that is used in dentistry. This may be what is causing the numbness in your leg.

Yes. But OP has stopped using the lidocaine.

I would go back to the doctor and check out whether the original pain was caused by some kind of nerve irritation. Whether this new numbness is part of the original problem or something new, it should be checked.

It's possible that, as it was used anally, that this is a systemic response.

go the site dr trester he's from canada.its your spine, you have a pinched nerve in your spine. Been there done that. This site show you which part of your spine affects all the parts of your body. You need a neurosurgeon, and a mri. And let him look atr the x-rays himself. Not the report for the mri.
The meds you took only covered the symptoms the dr. was hoping it would ease up if you give iot time. Many times it does. And sometimes it don't. I had spinal fusion 13 years ago. Now they have thing much less invasive. Your siatic nerve runs down your leg from the cheek of your butt. It should be in the L's on your spine, also there is one for your groin. Good Luck!
