    HD-dvr Set-Up
Just got Cox DVR service [Motorola DCT-64xx]. Install diagrams are contradictory. They show connecting all the r,y,g, etc. audio and video cables from the audio/video out terminals to the same input terminals on my Samsung HDTV. There IS a note that if you use an HDMI you do not need the video out connection, an 'either, or' comment. There is no remark about whether the audio out/in connection is needed when using HDMI. I thought the HDMI cable took care of both. I unhooked the 2 audio cables from the audio out plugs and everything 'seems' OK, still getting sound. Am I missing something??

HDMI will transmit full digital sound from the receiver to the TV. However, if you use an external audio system you will need to run audio cabling from either the box or TV to the stereo receiver.
