    Abandonment laws
I have had custody of my daughters brother (they have the same mother) from abuse from the mother I got custody in 2003. I got custody of my daughter in 2006 the mother hasn't called write a letter or allow the children to contact their siblings, Also she moved without leting the courts know. But just before she moved she was served for child support in 2007 figure if she doesn't want to talk or even send a card she can pay something. Still no contact can I have her charged with abandonment I would like to adopt her son. We have never known who his father is she had 4 different men tested I found out. I have always been his DAD. My question is how much of a leg do I have to adopt her son?

Did you bother reading the Sticky note about this:

Before posting? It would have answered your question.

If your purpose is to adopt the child, you will have to find the mother to get her consent. It is unlikely a court will terminate her rights without it.
