    Kenmore elite coldspot refrigerator is not cold?
    My Kenmore Elite Coldspot refrigerator (model no: 106.74204402/ mfg: 2006.03) is not keeping food cold.

    I have thrown away food 3 times this week and the temp is sitting at 60 degrees F. It seems as if the fans are not running in the fridge; however, the freezer is fine. What should I do?

    Sounds like it is the defrost timer switch gone bad. This will result in an ice build up on the condenser coils and the warm up of the fridge part.

    You need to test the defrost timer switch and change it out. This is basically a simple repair that a repairperson can do in less than 15 minutes if they have the part on their truck. If you know nothing about fixing appliances or don't have the multitester to test the switch, call a repairperson. Get an estimate of the price prior to agreeing for them to come out and fix your unit.

    As a quick fix to keep your fridge going until you can get it serviced, turn the unit off and let it fully defrost, then turn back on. This may take up to 5 hours to fully defrost the coils so place any food in coolers. This "fix" should hold you for about a week.
