I purchased a Whirlpool range (model gw395leptoo) in April of last year. Thanksgiving day the satrt button failed. It was under warranty. A technician replaced the control board and keypad. Everything was fine. In August the keypad would no longer take any key presses. I purchased a new control board. Installed it. Still nothing. Called a repairman. No idea. I then purchased a new keypad. Installed it, still nothing. Called another repairman. Said it was the control unit. Took it back(under 1 year warranty) got a new one. Installed it still nothing. Called another repair company said it was the keypad that is a week old and advised me to sell it. I have checked for shorts can find no sign of scorch marks or the smell of a burning board. Any help would be appreciated.

That's a tough one. I can't even begin to toss out ideas on this one. I would have to be sitting right in front of it to even come close, and then I'd probobly be on the phone with the manufacterer tech support line.

The best advice I can give you online is, as the stove is under warranty, keep filing those claims. Don't let them stop until the problem is solved, they might get tired of it and just replace the whole range. I can honestly say, if we were having this kind of trouble out of a piece of our commercial food equipment, the manufacturer would probobly be sending a product engineer down right about now. Not saying that's what's going to happen here, but its definitely reached a point to advance it to the next level.

Perhaps someone else here can give a better idea. Ive watched this question remain idle all day, so I just thought I would chime in.

Well, there is one thing, look at the wiring diagram, find out what voltage the board is supposed to get at all its points, then check those voltages to make sure its not getting overloaded.

For instance, if two pins call for 120 volts, and a neutural, then make sure that's what they are getting. Things like that.
