Welcome Lilrapper. Others here are using a variety of things to lighten their skin. First I would like to ask, does your family say hurtful things for having a darker complexion or is it that you feel you stand out more?

-Always use a sunblock about 15-20 minutes before you go outside in daylight.
-I prefer the Neutrogena spf 75 or higher, reapply if your outside often.
-Try to limit your time of being outside during the daytime.
-Use a good exfoliating soap like Likas papaya soap, diana stalder papaya kojic soap, soap or scrubs that contain grounded apricot seeds, etc.
-Some people here are using safer and more natural skin lighteners such as Powerwhite, 55H+ Cristaline, etc. I have used the Makari Night crème with success but this costs much more and gives some people breakouts,
-Drink plenty of water to help the body to remove impurities and take multivitamin that also contains vitamin C

These are only a few suggestions.

I'm sorry people have said harmful things to you about your skin color. It amazes me when people say harmful things to dark skinned black men because they are glorified in the media. You guys are what's in style right now. Dark skinned guys and light brown to light skinned girls. I honestly wouldn't sweat it. Most girls like it. I love it. BUT I will not judge you. And you want what you want. Just like I want what I want. I would listen to everything Golden Girl wrote. Also if you take fish oil supplements (make sure they are tested and are mercury free. They're not expensive at all. Get them at a walgreens or cvs or something like that). It naturally brightens your skin. Especially the skin on the face. I know you said you didn't want to use bleaching creams... But that's pretty much all I can recommend if you don't want to use creams. I do use a glycerin based liquid called Christaline. And it causes dramatic lightening. But I don't know if that would be good for you because it would be very obvious you lightened your skin... And if you're young and your family doesn't know you're doing this. It might cause a lot of questions to arise. Just please before you try anything. Come to this board and ask us. So we can steer you away from any harmful products and you can learn from our mistakes. I wish you the best of luck!

I agree with what Brown Deceit had said. Many women from just about every race including black women love the way dark brown men look. My younger brother is dark brown and wanted to lighten and I asked him why because he is always getting attention from people as they like the way he looks. How old are you? Have you tried addressing to your friends with how you feel and let them know that they are hurting you. Because if they decide to say mean things to you after you address to them how you want them to stop, then they are not really your friends. Speaking of rappers, many rappers have a darker complexion... Tupac was always my favorite back in the day. Oh, I forgot to mention, don't worry about taking "lightening pills", they do not work anyway. They are a gimmick only and do not lighten.

Oh yeah that's right, but it can be cool, to bleach, as you go different from other black guys, that the tone is different.

But people will always ridicule you, if they find out that you lighten your skin, that's the nature,
Its not accepted in the media.
    But TANNING is accepted.

For example, I live in a place, where everyone is white, and It kind of excites, me that I'm different them all.
But sometime, it can hurt too,
As you know some girl dump you because your too dark,

I honestly think I would have not bleaching my skin if I lived in america, etc.

But Its not so cool either to be too white, or too dark.

Bronze it's the shade everyone wants.

It is not cool to bleach your skin, there's nothing cool about it and shouldn't be seen as something popular and stylish to do just because others are doing it. It should be an individual choice and why you want to lighten, and to lighten for yourself. Some people like to be fair, dark, brown, or light brown. Some like to tan and some like to lighten, and some wish to do neither. I do not think there is one good way or one bad way because all of them are beautiful, but it's about what you feel comfortable with and why.

Lilrapper some people here on this forum lives in Europe and in different countries around the world. Some of the brands others are using here are fair&white exclusive (has hq), powerwhite, likas papaya soap, 55H+ chrystalline, 4% hq with tretinoin (must use this properly), makari (I tried this w/ success but is pricey), Nadolina (hq in it), and there are others I'm sure also. Neutrogena has good sunblock as it leaves no chalky look. You can check around your local beauty stores first to see if they carry any. Look for products with active ingredients like alpha arbutin, bearberry, mulberry root, sepiwhite, kojic acid, licorice, vitamin c, vitamin a, to name a few.
