    Lord of the Flies
Why is the murder of Simon considered the climax of the novel? What events followed his death? Also what is the conflict in the novel?

I believe that the climax is Simon's death because it shows not only the loss of humanity, but also because after this chaos takes over the island. The main events that follow Simon's death are the storm, which washes Simon's body away and it is distinct that the two groups are separated. The conflict is the constant rival between the two groups. The two groups can be seen as order vs chaos, civilization vs savagery, and democracy vs dictatorship.

These are my opinions, if you have any improvements I could use please suggest them. Thanks
