    LA Inheritance law
The original Napolianic Law stated that if a man were divorced, upon his death half o is income went to his first wife and children and the other half went to the second wife and children. I come from a similar party; however, my father was well off, did very little to support us and hid his money. He was an attorney in the oil buisiness. I know the law has chanced and was wondering if anyone knew the current law. I know if he has a disabled child he most leave enough to support them. I am disabled and on SS but I am funtioning.

    Thanks

Louisiana Law on Probate, Successions and Usufruct
Without a will the laws of Louisiana determine who gets the property:
If there are children – the spouse gets one-half of community property and the use of the other half until remarriage and children share in the remaining one-half of the community and all separate property.
But it is better to ask a lawyer in LA
