Worried about negative side effects
I am cautiously about to use the Bio Clair products i.e oil soap and lotion. I have very dark skin from my neck up with seriously dark skin on by cheeks but the rest of my body is fair.
About three years ago I gained over 60 lbs and I observed my face and neck darkening. I have lost the weight but not the dark skin. A friend of my girlfriend suggested this product and she bought for me. I am worried about any side effects. Can anyone tell me of their first week experience using this product and what if any results good or bad they have experienced? Is this similar to a peel?

Welcome Woopishk. May I ask, how do you intend to use bio claire cautiously? It is what it is. I, as well as many others here, have tried bio claire and many has had side effects. It will lighten but at a cost, and there are safer and affordable lightening products that work great that some are using here such as Crystalline, Powerwhite, etc. Try typing it in search to read more about other's experiences and the dangerous ingredients that they do not include on their back labels and it being banned in many other countries. It is unfortunately adulterated with steroids and hydroquinone (in case you do not want to use Hq). You can also find more info on Google when typing "bio claire banned" in the search engine https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/skin-l...ly-383277.html

woopishk,
Just to add to what Golden_Girl has said, I believe that the main ingredient that makes bio claire work is steroids and this basically thins your skin. I personally saw extreme lightening when I used it, where my skin almost looked transparent and white and I could see the veins underneath. This area became incredibly sore and tender. I am so grateful that as I was using something else, I was not using Bio on my face because I dread to think what would have happened.
I know how fustrating it is waiting for something to work, but please think carefully before deciding to use bio on your face. As mentioned before there are safer alternatives. Whatever you decide, I hope you get the results you are looking for.

I agree. I remember seeing my collarbone and upper chest area near my neck, the blue veins were very noticeable and sensitive, I did not think it looked too attractive. So, I was unsure if lighter skin made the veins so obvious or if it was just the thinning of the skin. After I stopped using it the veins are nolonger noticeable.

And that's just our bodies we are talking about. And in my experience the body is far harder to lighten than the face, so who knows how my face would have turned out. I already have thin skin there.

Yes for some reason I never would put it on my face. So glad I didn't I guess it sort of looked suspect.

True, it is as though the Bio Clair actually eats through the skin's layers until it is thinned, not saying this is actually possible. But that is how it appeared. Well, I used to put the crème on my face and it had lightened. It actually worked better on my face than my body because I tried it on my body for about 2 weeks and I had a bad reaction to it and had to stop. I had read stories from people who tried it on their face with really bad reactions, so I guess for me I was just lucky.

Bio Clair is kid stuff, I use the cream and the soap and haven't had any side effects. I'm not a huge fan of bioclair anyway, it doesn't lighten as dramatic as I would like and I use it religiously.

I agree Dessaml. When I started using it I knew very little about skin lightening and what to look for as for ingredients goes. The only reason I had chosen it then was because on different forums I read that it could lighten... but now I know it does come at a cost.

If I could, I would love to permanently close Bio Claire's doors down forever to avoid other new users from using those products.

It burned your legs too?
I remember using it on my legs thinking that my legs would soon be looking so nice and bright... and then my legs started burning a couple of weeks later and the pain lasted for about a week. I barely could walk up the steps. I barely could walk period, as I could not bend my legs properly without it hurting more. I felt like a stick man, as if a lighter was placed under my knees. I was embarressed.. it made my legs were red too.

It's amazing how the folds of the skin really absorb lightening products.

Yeah I know. I even tried avoiding that area and applied it there about 4-5 times within the 2 weeks. Everyone should boycott Bio Claire, because they are poison.
