John Deere 110 model electric deck doesn't go down
How to override my power raise and lower deck on lawn mower. The switch won't let me raise or lower it. How to check if switch is good? How to manually lower it so I can mow. Thank you so much for your help. Scotty

    Hi,
There is no override for the system other than jumping the solenoids, if they work. The really bad news is that parts of the original manual lift were removed to install the electric one. I ran across one that had been "butchered" by an inept mechanic a few years ago and could not get the parts to repair it. Getting the parts to convert back was hard enough. Check:
    John Deere - Parts Catalog
And pick the one of the three that is the last one (serial 250001-.)
    Peace,
    Clarke

Clarke aka crigby, Is there a easy way to test the switch itself to see if it is still good, and maybe the problem is elsewhere? The mower works great but there is one big problem the deck won't lower. Can I manually lower the deck if the problem is not the switch after I test it to see if the switch is good? But if the switch is bad and I all I need is to replace the switch that would be great. Thank you for all your help and I am paying that it is only a bad switch. Any lawn mower repair shop or Tractor Supply Company should have a replacement switch? Once again thanks for your help. Scott

    Hi,
With a voltmeter you should have battery voltage going to the switch (ignition switch to the Run position - do not eliminate that switch if the Acc circuit is "fried" it will do it) and will have coming out of one wire or the other and going to a solenoid that works the lift. You could have a bad solenoid on one side. I am afraid I cannot remember any wire colors because it is just too rarely seen because of the age; and Deere does not give out wiring schematics because they "guard" their copyrights so well.
    Peace,
    Clarke
