You didn't run the snake in far enough to clear the clog. If your floor drain has a clean out plug snake from there, (see image) if not work around the bend of then trap and put out at least 16t feet of snake. Good luck, Tom

    Hi all...

Wesmac... you sure it is the floor drain and not the MAIN DRAIN backing up into the floor drain?

If not sure on this, test the main drain by removing the cleanout cover to the main drain and see if it is backed up. Otherwise, flush the toilet(s) or drain 1/2 a tub and see if it continues to back up at the floor drain. If it does, then the MAIN DRAIN line is clogged and will need to be snaked.

If not, follow Tom's advice above... ;)

Floor drains [ 1 Answers ]

I hear a constant drip from my basement floor drain. I have filled the drain with water to ensure the trap is full. I can not find a leaky tap or toilet in the house. I have turned off the water supply to the house nothing stops the drip. What could it be. Andy :)
