    Unsure of next move
I finished high school in 2007 and I moved to start uni the following year in 2008. I studied for the year but then realised that the degree I was doing wasn't what I expected. So due to this and some other health issues at the time I decided in 2009 not to return to uni. This year I have been working full time in retail sales whilst completing a 12 month traineeship which will give me a certification in retail. My problem is now that I am really not enjoying work and I want to go back to uni and study a different degree, but that won't be until February next year when uni commences in 2010. At the moment at work though I really hate going there, especially where there was an incident a couple of days ago where I ended up yelling at a co-worker because her and I just don't get along at all and it reached boiling point. Now work is uncomfortable and I absolutely hate it. I don't know whether to just look for another casual job now which will suit me when I go back to uni or to just stick it out where I am and go on hating it for the next 5 months. When I decided to leave uni it was also for health reasons, as I said. I have borderline personality disorder and I am in therapy twice a week for nearly 5 hours altogether and it has been pretty hard. Now I feel like I'm not concentrating on that at all because I'm so busy and stressed out with work. I just don't know whether to continue in my current job or find something else. Any suggestions?

Pixiegurl,it can be pretty frustrating to be in a job you don't like. Its good that you have decided to go back to university and take up studies again. However, since that won't happen,as you said, before 5 months, you have quite a few options to keep you occupied till then:

If you can take the frustration and dissatisfaction in your stride and hold up for the next 5 months, then it makes sense to keep your present job, because bottomline is,you are getting paid and you can do with some money to help you in university.

Quit the job and spend the next 5 months before joining university in concentrating on your therapy, since you want to be the best when you start your new life as a student and would meet lots of new people. So,working on yourself, your personality can be an effective way of spending the next 5 months.

Quit the job and use the 5 months as a pre-university session where you get to know the place, curriculum, faculty etc better by researching on the internet or through your own sources. You can also start reading up on the subjects you wish to take, thereby being in a more advantageous position when you join in Feb.

The last option is to completely chill out with friends and family and utilise the next 5 months in just having fun, doing all that you like to do(of course after quitting the job!)and in short, just giving yourself a vacation before starting university.

    Hope this helps!
