    Enforcing visitation
Need help registering custody papers in ks. Mom lived in Iowa and that is where custody was established. Mom moved to ks 6 years ago and is withholding child from father and not allowing visitation. How do I get the papers registered in Kansas? I am trying desperately to get this done. It has been over a month since I have seen my child. Now mom is threatening to go back to Iowa and would like to stop that from happeing. I need to know what paperwork to file to get custody papers registered or do I just file a temporary order to enforce visitation?

Where does the dad live ? Kansas or Iowa ?

That's going to make the difference in the answer you receive. Right now Iowa has jurisdiction over custody until it is changed. What orders of the court do you already have ?

That's the thing. I (dad) live in Missouri and have before custody was established. Mom lives in Ks and has for 7 years now. We did modify childsupport in 2005 and Iowa sent it to ks for modification because that is where the child lives. I went to court in 2007 in Ia to get them to change jurisdiction to ks but they won't.

    Any help here?

You file in Kansas not in Iowa and then they can send the info back there to accept or reject. Since niether party lives in Iowa then that's the justification for it to move to Kansas.

I can't get Iowa to see that. They won't release it. Which causes the attorney's fees to go through the roof. Right now I am trying to register them in Kansas as a foreign decree. Hopefully, they will accept that. Then I shouldn't have any problem.

Iowa will ask the mom if she wants to transfer the papers and she always says no. I don't know who told her not to because she has the upper hand until they get to Kansas.

Is there a form I can fill out and send to Iowa stating that based on the uniform act of jurisdiction it should be transferred?
