What is the going rate to paint interior rooms, labor only

No prep? Gosh, that doesn't happen too often.

How high?

Okay, then if the customer buys all the materials and the equipment to paint I would bid the job at 55 cents to 65 cents a square foot. Trim is 25 cents per LF. OR you can do an hourly rate. If you have to climb high past 8 feet, add 15% to to your total every 3 feet past 8 feet. (it takes longer to climb and time is a cost factor)

A 256 sq foot room: 4 walls at 8 feet x 8 feet in height is 256 square feet. Take nothing out for windows or doorways - you have to cut in more and that takes more time anyway. So the cost of doing just the walls with no materials or equipment would be $140.00, not including trim.
I no longer suggest "flat" finishes, but instead (if a flatter finish is wanted) to use the "eggshell" finish. It covers better and less time is needed for labor trying to ensure the best coverage. Also easier to keep clean, and the cheapest paint will only be harder to achieve the best results.

Thanks cyberheater, I am in Michigan, trying to get some rental units painted. Your help is greatly appreciated, I think painters around here are high, I've been told 1 -3 dollars per sq. ft thanks again

Cyberheater, I am looking for labor prices to paint walls and trim one coat, maybe two, the painter only needs there own paint equipment, I am supplying the paint, and have already did the prep work! Thanks for your time

I run into pricing per s/f around $ .50 to $1 depending on the status of the person doing the quote. A pro is generally $1+

Okay, Ballenger is correct, but I did give you something in an earlier post to go buy.

Some have a mininum price for a job, which is reasonable. They will include for their own materials, equipment : roller, covers, brushes , etc. time to set up, clean up. All that is figured into a job. If you buy a cheap flat paint, it will take them more time to do a good cover.

My best advice to you is to get 3 estimates. I am not there, and as Ballenger says - a buck per square foot is a good estimate.
