One knob. No hot water - in tub faucet
    Hello there,
My 15 year old Michigan home has a One knob dial that does not move up or dow. It turns on by rotating to the left. Lets call off- position #1. Position #2 is the position in question... and then there is position #3.
When in position #1- Water is off.
As the knob is turned to the left- cold water flows.
As position #2 approaches- water increases in temerature/decreases in pressure
At position #2- water is off(should be hot water flow?)
As the knob continues its journey to the left- water starts to slowly come back on and still has increased temperature BRIEFLY.
In position #3- water is on/temp is cold

How can I get hot water to flow.
Can I change a one handle spout to a two handle?
    Thanks for reading,
    Natalie

Your faucet has a cartridge or ball valve with 2 inlets, hot and cold. The hot inlet is clogged and can be cleaned or replaced. Do you know the brand or can you posts a picture?

If you have heat trap nipples on you water heater that's a good place to start looking for a restricted hot water line.

Harold may be correct if you are having trouble at all hot faucets. However, if it just the one tubes faucet then I think it's a clogged cartridge or ball valve.

Not sure how to communicate this but something doesn't sound right. Moving to left sounds backwards. Wish you had use clockwise and counter clockwise to describe what is happening. The flow stopping in the center of movement doesn't sound right.

Therefore, I am of the opinion that either the handle is on upside down or the hot and cold mixture control (underneath the knob) is 180 degrees out, or both.

Edit: Stem could also be 180 degrees out.

Suggest that you remove handle or knob, turn stem 180 degrees and reinstall handle.
