You do not do that. You need to have a EPA certification along with all the proper tools and knowledge. You will have to hire a HVAC company to do the job.

Oh how I would love to say you just fill er up like the gas in your car, but hvac1000 hit the nail on the head. Need to hire a pro.

The cool weather this summer has made it a bit slow around here for the service men. Now if the winter gets real cold as some say that will boost the bottom line.

Been a little slow on the ac side this summer here too. I do dread the midnight heating calls though. But my plumbing always overfills the gaps.

While I've got you here hvac1000, what kind of setup do you suggest for brazing residenstial ac systems. Always use oxy-acetelyne for my med gas jobs, and commercial jobs, but have always just used a small easy to carry straight acetelyne torch for small brazes. Definitely notice the difference in heating time. What did you use, and what did have your employees use. Im thinking staight acetelyne is about as efficient as it gets for these small brazes, with the correct tip no dought.

Unlike other pleasures in life I believe in getting it hot quick and done quicker. The less amount of time you heat that copper the better it is for the system. I have watched guys with an acetylene air system and turbo twister tip turn almost 8 to 10 inches of copper line into a glow in the dark nightmare just so the 15% Harris stick silver would flow into a joint. Lord knows what the inside of that copper looks like when they are done and this also proves that you can overheat copper past the real working stage.

I have always liked to use the oxygen/acetylene setup with the right tip. Tip selection is very important along with adjusting the oxygen/acetylene pressures to suit the job to be done. I especially like the twin adjustable tip available from Uniweld. When you hit both sides of the joint at the same time the brazing goes that much quicker with less contamination to the inside of the copper. Now when you get to the two inch copper lines a quick lick of the rosebud torch might be in order.
