Getting Pregnant
Hello Everyone!
I've been on the birth control pill ever since I was 17. I'm 22 now. I want to start trying to have a baby by the time I turn 25.
Now I know they say that if you have been on the pill for as long as I have it make take forever to have babies (I don't know how true that is, but that's what I heard). My question is what age do you think is best to stop taking the pill to try for a baby?
Thanks for any help :D

Hey,
About the birth control pill, that's what I heard too. If you want it by the time you're 25, I would stop taking it within the next month or so, or even now! I don't remember how long approximately it takes for the body to go back to normal, but every woman is different. So if you were OK with having a baby with in the next year, there could be a possibility of it. But like I said, it depends on how your body is and every woman's body is different.

Whoa lol. No I definitley don't want a baby within the next year. Wouldn't be the right time. Maybe when I am 24 I'll stop taking the pills. There's no rush. I would just like to start and have kids before I'm 30. I figured if I start at 25 I should have one by the time I'm 30.
Do you think the people at planned parenthood would know the best option? That's where I got the pills from anyway

Usually it takes a year of trying for a woman to get pregnant, with consistent birth control you can expect one year additionally typically following your last treatment, although these are figures not an exact science. Add on another 10 months of pregnancy you are looking at about three years before you have a child. Rough estimate.

I started taking the pill when I was 15 or 16. I got married when I was 23. I got married Dec. 20, 2003 in which I stopped taking the pill and was pregnant Jan. 22, 2004. It did not take me long at all. I think I had one cycle and then I was pregnant.

I think it makes your situation rare but not typical.
It's as predictable as determining how long labor will be for a certain individual.

I wish there were a way to just wave a magic wand and get pregnant--or stop ANY pregnancy from happening.
Unfortunately, the only sure way I know of getting pregnant is to date a drug-using womanizer who has 4 other kids by 3 other women, who is never around, and who beats you. It helps to be living with your parents and under the age of 17, and to NOT know which of the awful guys you've been sleeping with is the babydaddy. You can't have a job, and you have to be failing school. If you have ALL of that, plus an IQ lower than 100, then you're SURE to get pregnant.
Anyone else should be seeing their OB/GYN for help getting pregnant and tests run to make sure all is okay.
