    Spouse's debt impact
I am recently separated from my wife due to various reasons. The largest reason is due to her credit card debt she established. I am not attached to the two credit cards she defaulted on due to the fact she has not found work in almost 2 years while caring for her father who was medically needy. I was unaware of the debt. I need to know how to insulate myself from the impact of any debt collection actions. I have started removing her from any banking accounts. She does not live with me nor is her name on the house. I have excellent credit rating and do not need that tarnished for future plans. What type of legal actions or collection methods are there to collect? I read about garnishment of wages and banking accounts.
