    Probation officer never returns calls!
My husbands probation officer is located out of Georgia but he has been living in Florida for the last 30 years and he has never been a resident of Georgia. His probation officer told him that he would transfer his probation down to Florida and well it has been going on one month now and he has not heard anything about his transfer. He has called up to the probation office and no one will return his calls. Are they trying to mess him up on purpose to make him go back up to Georgia? Oh and his probation officer was extremely upset because the judge let him go and did not make him serve any time. The only info he got from the office was that he had a 30day travel permit to come back to FL. The 30 days is up, will they violate him, what can we do?

Transfers can take 3 to 6 months, not weeks often, esp in GA system.
He has to be approved by GA to have his probation there, and then FLA has to approve his probation there.

And unless he has it in writing, that he is OK to leave the state and live somewhere else, he never should have left in the beginning,

If he is on a 30 day travel, then at the end of 30 days he has to return or he is in violation of his probation and can be arrested ( violated)

Even if the Judge ordered his probation transferred, he must still abide by the rules of the probation office in Georgia until such time as his probation is transferred. He must return to Georgia immediately or he will definitely be violated. When he returns to Georgia I would suggest that he go to the probation office in person and ask them about his probation transfer. Phone calls don't cut it especially if no one is returning his call.
