    Electric problem
    I'm putting in a new bath vent which we didn't have one before.there was just a light there before.this old house has the old wiring which is just a black and a white wire and no ground.heres my problem I have a black and white wire coming from a juction box to the vent and a black and white wires coming from the switch to the vent.the vent I bought has a white receptacle which is the light has a blue and a black wire and there's a black receptacle which is the vent and it has a black and white wire.please help

    Is the new vent a fan with a light?

    If so, there is two outlets in it to feed the fan and light separately. Since you only have one switch, the connect the two outlets in the fan unit to the switch,both the fan and light will come on and off together.

    Did I miss anything?
