Cannot hear sound when playing DVDs
    Hi there,

I hope someone can help with this problem that I am experiencing at the moment with my HP Pavilion dv8230ca. Recently I discovered that when I play DVDs in my laptop I cannot hear any sound from the movie. I have checked the volume on my speakers and the volume control of the program that I use to view the movie and everything is turned up. When I listen to CDs or even other sounds like when Windows starts up I can hear it just fine, but as soon as I pop a DVD in I cannot hear a THING! Can someone help me to trouble shoot this problem I never had a problem watching movies on my laptop before now. I would really appreciate a reply.

Any changes that either happened or that you perhaps made to your computer around the time that the problem started; particularly any Software or Hardware that you installed or setup.

    What OS?

What software do you use to watch DVD movies?
