    Propane fridge amonia smell
I have a dometic propane fridge in my camper and it is not working. There is also a strong amonnia smell coming from it. I was told by a person who claims to be knowledgeable that the smell is from a leaking freone line and it has to be replaced. Costs about $1200.00 to replace it. Can I fix this? Any idea what is wrong?

Unfortunately I think your friend is right. I believe that ammonia is used as a refrigerant in gas refrigerators. However, this should mean repair, not replace.
