Is there a grace period for late fees in New Jersey
I live in New Jersey and I want to know if there is a 5 day grace period before my rent is considered late? People have been telling me there is and I wanted to see if it was true. My landlord is a lawyer in PA so I need to know what the law states so I can take it to her. Because she raised my late fee from 50 to 75! Thank you

There is a 5 day grace period by law for payment of rent in NJ only for senior citizens. If you are not a senior citizen then the only grace period you may have is if one is provided in your written lease.
