Sensing energies
Is anyone here able to sense the energy in things?
I hold a stone and I know what it wants to be used for. I know if it's 'happy' or 'serious' or 'sad.' I can tell what stones are friends and what stones really don't like being near each other. I can tell which stone from a group of the same type is the right one for the intended purpose. I can tell if a stone no longer belongs to me and it's time to pass it along to someone else.
Anyone else have anything like that?

yeah, I use stones in healing. I also have a set of stones I use for divination.
I'm actually working on a book of the metaphysical properties of stones. The hard part is narrowing down all the information I have into something resembling order and that is short enough that people will actually buy and read it. The almost 400 pages I have is not that ^_^

No, the very real ability to sense the energy stored within an item.

When a person can sense something that others cannot, getting them to understand, and not invalidate it is similar to explaining sight to an entire planet of people born blind.

But showing that there is a phenomenon that is not currently understood is fairly easy.
For example, showing a green-red colourblind person that some people have the ability to distinguish between green and red is very easy, although showing the actual difference is very hard.
Despite this, such phenomena are very rarely found. (If ever, I'm wondering if some examples that I can think of really count).
Anyway, a contraolled test to show whether the phenomenon is real or not should be very easy.

What sort of controlled test would you suggest?

I have a question;
Are the readings affected by the reader's moods?
For example, if you are feeling a bit sad or more happy, is there a change in the reading?

Not with my stones. There are times when I'm not receptive to the energy of a particular stone, but rather than the energy itself changing it just get 'quiet.' kind of like being in the room with someone who just doesn't happen to be talking at that moment.

Do you sense energy in other things? Or is it just stones?
EDIT::
I just noticed in your post, you had mentioned "my stones".Does that mean that you have a set of stones with you which you can sense?
Does it happen with random stones?
I hope you don't mind me asking so many questions.I am just curious :)

it's usually just stones, but it has happened with other things. I've found sticks and feathers that 'told' me what they wanted to be used for. Almost all stones 'speak' to me, though.
I do have a set of divination stones, but I was referring to all of my stones in general. I have somewhere around 100 different types of stones (those are just the ones I can positively identify). I have absolutely no idea how many individual stones I have. That's not even counting all the stones I've found at the river and lake that I can't their identify type. I kind of have a thing for stones ^_^
I don't mind the questions at all ^_^

I am more of a seed person,but got a few stones too,just because they looked beautiful,possibly of no value to anyone else :).
:) Another question;
You have mentioned that they 'speak' to you, does this mean that you believe it has powers or a 'soul' like quality within it too?

I think if they allow the two to get mixed but if they are good they should be able to keep them separate... like keeping business and pleasure separated.
I know that when you have psychic abilities or what I call high intuition the closer you get to the people around you the harder it is to pick up on things because you are more emotionally attached.
Like when I would hear on the news an amber alert I would always know they were going to be found, dead or alive and some circumstances. Like they got off the bus and went to a friends house and didn't notify their parents, Or they ran away because of parental abuse, etc...
Anyway, my daughter when she was 17 and 18 would disappear and not let me know what was up with her and I was in pure panic.

NoH,
I can understand the intuition thing and that some can read people's moods at first glance.
Or even have a sudden thought about something,which may come true.
Or even be connected to loved ones that we are sometimes instantly aware when something goes wrong with them.
I am not much of a believer in divination of any kind being totally accurate.Yes some get it right sometimes,but not always.
Another thing is that inanimate objects giving off energy is something I am not sure I understand.

I don't understand that either but I know that many people use stones in the chakra's and so forth.
In the Bible it says
Luke 19:40 (King James Version)
40And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
There are other similar verses too.
I am not sure how much into using rocks we are allowed to get into though because many paranormal things are used by the occults and so forth.
I find it interesting and would like to learn more about it but I am not sure how far I would want to go with it.
I have watched some of the David Sereda and Greg Braden YouTube videos but I don't really understand them much.
