At the moment I'm on paye and paid by the hour my employer want to put the whole team on to price work, will he have to give us the option of redundancy or can he just change us from one to the other,, any advise on this would be much appericated.

Depending on where you live you are likely considered an "at will" employee and he can change your pay rate or how you are compensated anytime time he wishes unless you have a contract or union agreement.
