Help, the car ran out of gas and after putting some gas in it it won't start. Is there something I can do to get it started? Is this a fuel injection problem?

Our 2002 Buick with the 3800c engine at times fails to start after running hard in 100 degree weather. Fuel pump has been checked out OK.
