    L = 4w
    trying to figure out how to write out this problem l=4w

    question : The rectangle at the right has a perimeter of 40 centimeters. The length of the rectangle is 4 times longer than the width. Find the dimensions of the rectangle

    I know that it is 16 L x 4 w but can't figure out how to write it out , I have the book but it is no help

    What's the equation of the perimeter (=40) of a rectangle with sides L and W?

    That's your 2nd equation.
