    Spotting and contraceptive pill
    Hi everyone,

I've been taking my pill for 5 months now, it's called Jasminelle (0.02 mg/3mg). During the first 3 months I took it in combination with another pill(androcur, my gyneco gave it to me for bad skin, although my hormone tests were ok:mad:). I have not forgotten one single pill of this month, and haven't even had sex after starting this package. I have 4 pills left to finish it, and since this morning I've had some very light brown discharge, mostly visible on the toilet paper after I urinate. I don't use a pad, but my discharge on my pantyliner isn't that clear.

Should I be worried or is this normal till my body adapts to the pill(only this pill)? And should I call my gynecologist or is this too much of a commun question for it to be asked?

    Thanks a lot!

I would say this is pretty normal since you haven't been on it long. Its common to spot the closer you get to your period - even on some methods of birth control.

If it concerns you, just give your prescribing doctor a quick call.

Contraceptive Pill [ 2 Answers ]

Hi I take the contraceptive pill Levlen, which is the 28-day packet, containing 7 'sugar' pills. Just wondering, because the doctors say when you first start taking this it takes a few weeks for the contraceptive to be fully effective so you should use condoms, but does this also occur...
