Ceiling fan remote signal, again.
I have 2 identical ceiling fans, both with an identical wall remote for the light and 3 fan speeds. When installed, each remote would work the fan it was wired to, light on and off, fan 3 speeds, on and off. If both control switches were 'on' each remote, when one was used the other fan responded to the same command, whether light or fan. Then one of the remotes seems to have malfunctioned. When the control switch is turned on, the fan automatically comes on and the 'Fan Off' button will not stop it, only turning off the control switch stops the fan. I was told that by moving one of the dip switches that they would work independent of each other. There are 4 little dip switches on the wall remote. In the ceiling fixture, the sensor has no dip switches. Kind of at a loss with suddenly the one fan not working the way it was. Do I completely rewire it the same way to see if it works as it did before or just assume the remote went bad so soon, so suddenly? And if I do get it to work again, or have it replaced, will moving 1 of the little dip switches make it independent of the other fans remote? Appreciate any replies...
