    My Daschund Can't Walk
Hello everyone... My name is Leah & I'm new to this site, but am hoping someone out there can help me w/ my question:
I have an approximately 3y/o mini dashund who up until this morning was perfectly well.. However, when I pick her up to carry her outside (she's been spoiled to me carring her to her pen.. ), she was moaning, very timid-acting, shaking, acting like I wasn't holding her right... something.. then she lost control of her bowels before I could get her outside to the pen. Once in the pen I watched to try to see what was wrong & notice she was dragging her hind legs, the right more than the left... this was very sudden & I haven't noticed any other symptoms prior... please, help she is looking at me w/ such pleading eyes..

Hello, your question is in the wrong section,if you post in the pets or dogs section you will get more replies from the experts, however it would seem that your pet needs attention from a vet.

Greetings and WELCOME to the site, lpage8144!

I moved your question out of Introductions to this forum topic area so that it will be more likely to be noticed and addressed by those who are best able to answer it. Your question will get noticed much more here.

Introductions is for people to introduce themselves only, and we try to not ask questions there. We would appreciate it if you would return to Introductions sometime to tell us a little bit about yourself, if you would be willing to do that.

I do note, that your question already received a response while it was in Introductions.

    Thanks!l

Your dog needs a vet, right now!

Dachshunds are prone to back problems because of their build and backyard breeders and puppymills breeding poor quality dogs. Sadly it's genetic.

I'm not sure that's what your dogs problem is though.

    Vet. That's your only option.

    Good luck.

Had to spread the rep but YES!

I wouldn't be wasting my time on the internet, I would already be at the vets, stuff the appointment, just show up and hope they have an opening.

Many clinics will take a dog in and keep it there for observation until it can be seen to by a vet.

We had to do this a few months back when my mothers dog was attacked by another dog.
Out vet was currently in surgery but the vet nurses put him out the back for observation until my vet was available.
The vet nurses can do a lot more for your dog han you can from home.

Dog Won't Walk [ 2 Answers ]

I adopted a 14 week old beagle/Australian shepherd 4 days ago. He refuses to walk when we're outside. I have him on a harness and use a 6' nylon leash. He will walk a few steps, then sit down and won't budge. I have tried luring him and rewarding with treats, getting down on the ground and...

Daschund can't walk [ 3 Answers ]

My daschund had back surgery a few years ago and it ended up great... however lately she is having troubles with her back leg... it doesn't seem to be a back thing but perhaps a muscle problem.
