Told I am Judgement Proof due to SSDI income only, but.
I receive only SSDI income and have no assets whatsoever. I was told by Legal Aid Society I was "Judgement Proof."

I would like to save money for I can get a place of my own. I am currently staying with friends. Here are my brief questions, please.

May I save money in a Savings Account? And is there a limit as to what I can save?

My account is a joint account due to my poor credit. Does this complicate anything?

You aren't judgement proof... there is no such thing. Its possible that you are collection proof... but that is not the same thing. A judgement is good for 20 years so unless you never plan on owning anything or making a dime, then you really aren't collection proof.

Yes, you can save the money in a savings account but you need to ensure that the bank knows that the ONLY funds in that account are SSDI.

The joint account is fine so long as the other person doesn't use it.
