The first time I got BV the doctor said it was a result of marathon sex. She said a man's bodily fluids are basic and cancel the acidity in a woman's. Since then I have had it a few more times. I feel like the reasons I have gotten it since is for other reasons? I have noticed that sometimes my boyfriend smells down there. Esp if he has been sweating. I have tried hinting to him to shower first or what not so as not to offend him. But the times we have had intercourse and he has smelled has usually resulted in me starting to smell and/or getting BV. He usually pulls out... so I don't know if that means there is not enough in me to cancel out my bodies acidity? Perhaps it is a mixture of him not being clean and having unprotected sex? Is he the reason I am getting it? Does he have anything?

I have taken antibiotics to get rid of BV, but that gets expensive.
Another time I was able to get rid of it with goldenseal and garlic tablets.
I also was successful in using a tampon with tea tree oil on it.

Really I just want to prevent it all together.

Make him shower first, and wear a condom. Offer to shower with him, if it helps. That's how I got an ex who wasn't fond of bathing to clean himself.

Maybe he keeps reinfecting you. Perhaps he needs to be treated!
