How do you jump the starter directly on a '93 Honda Civic
Hi all, I have a 93 Honda Civic that just died last week (on a very hot day). Battery is fine (only 2 years old) and all lights and stereo work, I hear the fuel pump turn on, but then silence - no clicking or cranking. I've already checked fuses and tried tapping the starter.

From the research I've done, it looks like I should try running a wire from the battery to the starter directly. I've searched all over the internet and found instructions, but they just say to run a 12 gauge wire from the positive terminal on the battery to the smaller terminal on the starter... I was hoping I could find some more specific instructions, preferably some pictures.

Does anyone have any more info on this procedure?

    Thanks a lot!

. Remove and fully charge the battery. AutoZone will do this for free. It's not unusual for batteries to suddenly die in the heat. I used to have new ACDelco maintenance free batteries that would only last 12 months in the heat. Now, I only buy wet cell batteries that I can add additional distilled water, if necessary. Remember, it's very important to charge even new batteries. My new DieHard Gold battery, that I bought two weeks ago, drew 5 amps when I placed it on a charger and took 3.5 hours to fully charge. Members consistently over estimate the condition of their batteries on this site. Everyone should have a basic battery charger.

. Clean battery terminals and cables. Ensure the cables are in very good shape and that there is no unseen damage. Clean main ground thoroughly.

. Test all under dash and under hood fuses with a test light or multi-meter:
