I live in China 6 months out of the year.I am an American artist. The situation is this. My friend's son in China who is 23 years old hates his father. He is addicted to computer games and has become violent. He was separated from his real mother when he was a baby and raised by his grandmother.There is no connection with the real mother.The son has always showed some disconnect with reality. Could this be autism?

More: the father remarried. Now the 2nd wife left the husband to become a Buddhist nun.the son had no relationship with this woman The son takes out his anger out on animals. I was there when he was beating a small dog I rescued the dog and the dog was taken to a Buddhist monastery.This son has destroyed the father's things sprayed painted hate graffiti in their home.He was institutionalized for beating his grandmother was tazered when showed any aggression and would not take the prescribed drugs.

The father now is trying to make right. China's mental health is not developed and drugs right now are its basic medium. Is there any suggestions for a problem like this where real mental health care is not available?

Sounds like the father stepped in too little too late. It is hard to say if he has autism because it could just be Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD)
