    Calucation of energy consumtion
    Hi

How do I calculate or measured the energy consumtion of individual room, say I have a split unit compressor which is split into 3 different rooms. Any way I am able to tap the fan coil unit so as to measured the current.

I'm not sure what you want for an outcome answer. Power is measured in watt's. Watts is Volts*amps so if the indoor unit is 120 volts and a clamp on amp meter on the hot wire inside the evaporator unit is 1.2 amps, the power is 120*1.2=144 watts. Now if this is a mini split system say like a Mitsubishi Mr Slim or so on, what is the outdoor units wattage if either zome is calling for cooling? Use the same formula and measure the watts for the condenser for each zone. Add wattages for condenser and evaporator unit for each zone for power consumption of each zone.

I be monitoring the power from the compressor side and use a time to monitor the fan coil, Is it possible?? Is there a terminal where I can tap the contact from the compressor PCB to monitor the fan coil unit??
