    Notice of default judgment

I received a letter today of a default judgment. It stated in the letter that I was duly cited to appear in court. I have never been served paperwork for such action. In the letter the judge declared that I owe a sum of $11172. 23 PLUS COURT COST, and 5% per annum what do you suggest and what are my rights please help.

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

If you never received any prior notification of the suit, then you respond to the court saying that and asking that the judgement be vacated for improper service.

But this will only be a delaying tactic. But it will give you the chance to see if you can fight it. There are lots of threads here that discuss what you can do.
