    Heating element resistance
    I have an AO SMITH water heater model EJCT 20 (compact type), when checking for continuity I use a DMM and on the resistance section I see 2000k, 200k, 20k, 2000, and 200... which setting should I use to test a 120v 1500w heating element and what would my reading be if good and what if bad... also, does it matter which post the wires reconnect to? Thanks

    Given: You have a 120 Volts and a 1500 watt heating element.

    V^2/R = 1500 watts

    Thus, R = V^2/1500

    14400/1500 = 9.6 ohms

    Use the 0-200 ohm
