Your stress on having the baby could maybe be making you spot. Or have you changed eating habits or exercise? Anything can make you spot. If it doesn't stop though go to your doctor and make sure your OK.

Your mom is right - take a pregnancy test once your period is late.

Spotting can be caused by several issues, not necessarily related to pregnancy.

It is true that stressing about being pregnant and conceiving can cause you to spot and as you hope for the best this dashes your hopes. It is the hardest thing ever to do is wait but there isn't much more that you can do other than keep trying to conceive in case it is a false alarm x

I waited and I still got a false negative. So patience is key... I waited a little over a month since my missing period before I got the actual "pregnant" result. (my hcg levels are normal... I just have a mystery baby hiding in there).

So waiting and trying to find something else to occupy your mind is very important (and healthy). This way you don't burn a lot of money on home tests, and you're able to keep sex fun and enjoy the little time left you have to it just being you two. I had to learn to relax... so I started taking classes at college to work on getting another degree... and focusing on something else helped us greatly! (plus I had something to do while I waited)
