    Antique Silver Tea Service
Hello, I am new to this forum. I have inherited an antique silver tea service consisting of a teapot, creamer and sugar bowl, that I believe was purchased from a London antique store in the first half of the 20th century. I have been noodling around on the Internet and find that the teapot (which is also monogrammed) has different hallmarks (Sterling, London jaguar without crown, Roman C in an oval-ish shield, duty stamp of Queen Victoria, maker CF in indented oval) than the creamer (Sterling, London jaguar without crown, Roman G, maker DW over JW aniel & John Welby) and the sugar bowl has no hallmarks at all (but what looks like HV4? Scratched underneath). The teapot appears to match the creamer/sugar bowl (the latter two which are clearly matches).

Would it be common or likely that components of a set to have been made by two separate makers? Or is this not a set at all? And does the lack of a mark on the sugar bowl mean that it is not sterling? Any info or direction to helpful references would be appreciated.

To clarify my post, I have (I believe) determined that the teapot was made at a different date (1838) and by a different maker (Charles Fox) than the creamer/sugar bowl
    (1898, Daniel & John Welby).

I still wonder about no markings on sugar bowl, would that have been likely or possible if it was part of a "set" with the creamer? Those two pieces seem to clearly be a set, that is, all decorative work seems identical (in contrast to the teapot, which we always believed to be part of the set, but which upon close inspection has different decorative detail). Thanks!
