Define weepy eyes?
Are they running?
Gunky?
If you are talking about stitches are they entropean?

I wasn't told what sort of stitches but apparently they stay in till they're 6 months old. Watery liquid discharge it looks like from the photos. I got the feeling that this was a common thing that can happen in labs

As far as a I know it isn't but I admit I don't know a lot about labs.
Entropean eyes is where the eyelid curls inwards and the lashes actually touch the dogs eyeball causing irritation and weeping.
They cut the eyelid and stitch it upwards so that the eyelashes no longer touch the dogs eye.
If they are just weeping and the eyelashes are pointing outwards then it is just a case of either infection or loose eyes.
Do you have any photos of the pups eyes you could post.
Have they been to they vet to rule out infection?

I will try to post photos. They have been to the vet to have the stitch put in. Apparently only one stitch, which makes me think it may have more to do with loose eyelids.

I also want to know how much weeping you are getting... cause as far as I know, a little gunk from the eye is normal in puppys. Heck even our full grown dogs get 'eye boogers' and tears down their face sometimes.

Thank you for everyone's help. I have spoken to the breeder today and now have my answers. This weepy eye is caused from the bottom eyelid being turned slightly inwards and the eyelashes causing the weeps from irritating the eye. This happens because of excess floppy skin around the eye. The pup generally grows into their skin within another 6 weeks or so apparently. The vet has said it is not necessarily inherited. Thanks again for everyone's help.

Yup, entropean :)
Its easy to fix, however sometimes the operation is not 100% successful so keep that in mind, he may need more surgery.
Once everything has healed though you should have no more problems.
Sometimes it is hereditary but there can be cases where it 'just happens' my mums great dane has a slightly entropean eye and none of his relatives have the problem.

To do photo's click on the "go advanced" button below.
Then when you get to the next page click on the little paperclip icon and find the picture on your computer.
Click "upload" and it should work ;)

That worked!
He is gorgeous, he has the sad puppy look in that photo, too cute.
Thanks for posting it.
The weeping eye is the one on the left?
It is hanging down quite a lot. Poor pup, he should be right as rain in no time though :)

So darn cute. I remember when my lab was a pup.
He had the weepy eye too, outgrew it though.
Give it some more time, wait and see.

Maybe it's a lab thing? My lab/rot mix (huge and gorgous :D ) had that too as a pup and out grew it. She died :( not even sure how... one of those out of the blue things like strokes and hearattacks cause she was fine when me my mom and everyone left (school and work) and when I got back from work she was lying at the door blocking it :(
